During a virtual meeting following the close of the Call for Papers, the Program Committee of the German Material Flow Congress (MFK) finalized the core topics for the two-day event. The opening day (January 26, 2027) at Messe Dortmund will feature sessions under the overarching themes Logistics Engineering – Europe’s Key to Success?, Innovations in Logistics, and Logistics Best Practices. On the second day, speakers from the field of technical logistics will address AI and Digitalization, Sustainability and the Circular Economy, and Sustainability and the Digital Product Passport. As on the first day, the program will also include presentations showcasing logistics best practices.
For the 34th edition of the long-established congress, Congress Chair Prof. Dr. Johannes Fottner of the Technical University of Munich expects around 40 speakers. Their names will be announced shortly. As in 2026, the congress will take place in an event cube as part of TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS in Dortmund.
Two panel discussions featuring finalists of the international IFOY AWARD will once again be held as part of the congress. This year's topics are Ergonomics and Lifting Aids and Start-ups.
